Legacy in Law: Our History

Joseph, Cohen & Del Vecchio traces its roots to 2006 when Jonathan Joseph opened a banking and financial services law boutique in San Francisco after practicing for 25 years as a banking and securities partner at two large (AmLaw25) firms. Jonathan set out to offer the same high-quality service clients expect from the largest American law firms but in a more solutions-oriented, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

In 2010, Jonathan Cohen, an experienced big firm trial lawyer, teamed up with Jonathan Joseph to form Joseph & Cohen and expand its practice into commercial litigation and employment. Together, they built a sophisticated corporate, financial services, and litigation practice representing banks, credit unions, fintechs, and high-tech companies and their directors and executives.

Over the next 14 years, Joseph & Cohen gradually added experienced attorneys from top firms who were attracted to the firm’s approach:
